Child Magazine CoverA survey, conducted for "Child Magazine" (August 2005) ranked University Fertility Consultants, at OHSU, as the 3rd Best Fertility Center in the United States. "With over 6.1 million Americans having trouble conceiving, it is important for potential parents to have the information they need to make informed decisions about their safest, most promising options," said Miriam Arond, Editor in Chief of Child magazine. "Child saw a need to compile this hard-to-get information and evaluate these facilities."

todayOn NBC's the "Today Show" (July 11, 2005) OHSU's University Fertility Consultants was specifically singled out for merit by Matt Lauer during an interview with the editor of Child magazine discussing the above survey. All of the top 6 sites had excellent success rates while holding multiple births to a minimum and their patients benefited from an established research program. However, the editor pointed out that University Fertility Consultants had achieved good success rates even though they accept couples with difficult fertility conditions that other clinics might not want to treat. University Fertility Consultants was specifically credited with our ability to help women with higher than normal levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) become pregnant

"Town & Country Magazine" (July 2004) selected OHSU Fertility Consultants as one of 12 of "America's Top Fertility Clinics" as reported by The Business Journal.

We were awarded 1st place for presenting our research findings:
"Defining the Discriminatory FSH Cut Off in an IVF Program"
presented at the 2004 Annual Meeting of the
Pacific Coast Reproductive Society.

A report published in the journal "Nature" by Drs. David Lee, David Battaglia, and others described the first live birth from a primate ovarian tissue transplant. This will help pave the way to allow women to freeze their ovarian tissue before undergoing the damaging effects of chemotherapy, (Oregonian article). After treatment they would be able to re-establish their fertility status using their healthy frozen tissue.

In March of 2004 all of our doctors were mentioned in the "Portland Monthly" as one of Portland's Best DoctorsDr. Battaglia was featured in an article (445 Kb pdf) relating an unusual clinical emergency in which he was able to turn a negative clinical situation into a positive outcome by applying insights gained from his research involving oocyte and ovarian freezing.

We aggressively publish results from our research investigations to help overcome the fertility problems of all patients. With a proven record in women's research, our physicians offer you reproductive choices not available at other clinics.
